The new x-rated ‘Machete’ trailer: Oh. My. God.
(mildly soils himself with excitement)
The American Astronaut: Without doubt the best low budget, black and white, surrealist, sci-fi, space western, dance musical ever made.
A couple of weeks ago I signed up for Secret Cinema, on the recommendation of a friend. This monthly film fest shows cult movies in secret locations all over London, each brilliantly brought to life with scene-setting theatrical experiences featuring dozens of actors and amazing sets, props and costumes.
I struck gold big time for my first Secret Cinema outing, catching Blade Runner, one of my all-time faves. As you can see from the video it was pretty effing spectacular with an epic recreation of some of the movie’s most iconic scenes in a secret location in the heart of London’s Docklands (which provided a suitably Tyrell Corp-style backdrop to the proceedings).
The night was amazing - totally recommend it to any London-based film fans looking for something a little different.
Sometimes a movie comes along that is so damn awesome you wonder if they had to bend the rules of space, time and logic just to cram so much damn awesomeness into it.
